Where we gather
The world is our temple grounds, or at least the lands and waters around this bay and the next. Since we are bringing zen into the everyday life, naturally we find ourselves in motion. Most of the time, we tend to sit in these three locations. Every event on the website will list it’s location and provided a direct link to it. The Carl Cherry Center for the Arts

The Carl Cherry Center for the Arts is an art gallery and theater in Carmel. Once here, you’ll enter via the side door facing Guadalupe street where you can leave your shoes and walk through the wood door to where we are sitting in the main gallery.
McGowan House & St. James Church

McGowan House Zendo is in a retreat house attached to St. James Episcopal Church in Monterey. McGowan House is is located on the other side of the block from the main entrance of the church. If you drive around the block to Franklin Street, there is a parking lot and the wood shingle building is McGowan House. On on the right side, you will find a path leading to the entry door. Walk on in, turn left, and within a few steps you will find yourself at the Zendo Door. Other events may be scheduled in the “House” public area or in the “Church”.
